I like it. There are some things that are just not plausible for an intro-level lab for different reasons, but would be very good for students to see. The eddy current pendulum and ring launcher are good examples I think.
ReplyDeleteI think it would be great to have some demos to excite and engage the kids on topics about to be studied. Like the eddy current & ring launcher to intro to magnetism. We have several demos, but the only ones that are use are the ones tied to a lab activity. Example: Light pipe & Mirage demos when they begin to study light.
ReplyDeleteI think this is a good idea; if someone works on demonstrations it gives us a chance to send teachers something new to try out. I'm focusing on lab revisions, but there are simply too many that need attention to get through all of them and begin thinking about a brand new lab.
